If you're expecting something like the insanity that was !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , or the P !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , you'll be kinda disappointed. Still, considering the high temperature during our stay was twelve, this is not a bad set of rides.

This is exactly how I'd spec my Maybach. LWB 62, black w/o two tone, those awesome wheels, and a tan interior. Although I'd add tinted windows to supplement the curtains. The two guys in the front were totally cool with my picture taking, waving and returning my thumbs up. See? Rich people (or their drivers) are nice too!
I can't even...
Some sort of Buick, I think.
Holy sexy BMW Batman.
Yes, this, uh...tastefully modified GTR says "CHEN" across the back, whatever that means.
SLK32 AMG & two lowered Apaches.
Maserati at the Mall of 'Murica.
These are rare-ish.
As are these.
Flexii? Flexuses?
First NX in the wild. Still like it, for some reason.
I cannot stress how mint this Lincoln was. Owner was cool too. He asked me if I wanted to buy it, which of course I did.
So. Square.
More square. Also, license plate of the year?
Hopefully this doesn't get too Kinja'd.

Damn, love that Maybach.

I've actually seen prices for a 57 (admittedly much less desirable) below $70k. Do want.

Wow, much want. Such amaze.
I've ridden in the back of a 57 before, don't ask how.

How?

Close family friend let me borrow his chauffeur for the day.
![]() 02/15/2015 at 21:41 |

Lol for some reason the concept of a chauffeur is so foreign to me. Like, we know plenty of people with plenty of money for a chauffeur, but here in Omaha it would be unheard of. As would owning a Roller or Maybach. We have a funny mentality in this town.
Must've been fun. Did you make him do burnouts?

What brought you up to my frozen Neck of the woods?

It's fairly stupid. The 57 isn't even the one intended for a chauffeur. That's the one that you can drive yourself without being mistaken as a chauffeur.
It was extremely fun though, 10/10 would ask for another favor again. I'll try to dig up some pictures. I unfortunately could not make him to donuts because his English was a little bit horrible.

A brief vacation.

I'm from Minneap, and I'm damn impressed with this crop of cars. Never seen a Maybach or GTR in the 612 before.

'73 Electra. If I am not mistaken. Maybach is gorgeous.

What kind of Psychotic takes vacation to Minnesota in the middle of the winter?

GTR was in Iowa on the way back.

I'm down in Farmington and am always floored by how many unicorns people let out in the salt when I head into the city in the winter. Where exactly did you see the Audi? I think My S4 Avant is rare but that RS6 Avant may be mythical.

Please not that there is no such thing as an RS6 Avant in the US and that is an A6 with RS6 badges.

Minneapolis is great. Haven't been back in far too long. Call new crazy but I miss the snow and cold too.

I've been told it has something to do with insurance. If a rich person collides with someone outside their tax bracket, the person who got hit might start seeing dollar signs. But if it's a chauffeur, then he's at fault. Part of me wants to call bullshit on that, bsince it's really just an ostentatious display of wealth/power-"I'm above this degrading peasant activity" sorta thing.
There is a certain awesomeness to flomping in back of a Lincoln or Bentley (or hell, any car) after a long day in town and getting whooshed by a chauffeur through the city back home. That's the whole beauty of those often-criticized couch mobiles-you don't want road feel or engine noise after a party in uptown Manhattan, to say nothing of steering feel or whatever! You want isolation, quietness, and comfort.
Speaking of-that Lincoln. Me want.

It was unbelievably cool. The lower color is dark purple, if you can't tell in the picture.

Even better!
There was one sitting on the side of the road nearby with a for sale sign last year. Had I had money, a license, and more accepting parents, I probably would've snatched it up in a heartbeat.

probably alone on this one, but i'm just not a big 5 series fan. even the e39. give me a nice 3 series and a 7 series. and the e38 is the pinnacle of 7series design.
my dad had one of these when i was in college. so elegant, luxurious, and sport-like too.

designed on a drafting table with a T-square
![]() 02/16/2015 at 10:37 |

Clarkson once joked that the designer was probably kept awake at night worrying over how he couldn't make the wheels square to match the rest of the car.

at least they did both the tail and grill badges.
couldve upgraded the wheels though.

Wheels were aftermarket I believe, and I think they were supposed to resemble the ones on the S6:

My guess is that there are RS6 Avants in the US but like any other person or thing with dodgy resident status they don't advertise it.
